Br. Rafe Passes Away

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the untimely demise of our beloved Auxiliary Visitor, Br. Rafael S Donato FSC (Serafin Ramon Donato), yesterday, 02 November 2006, in Morong, Bataan, at the age of 69.

He went out for a swim in the sea at 2:30PM and was missing for six hours.  His body was recovered at 8:30PM, a kilometer away from where he was last seen.

Born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur on 12 October 1937, he celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a De La Salle Brother on 16 October 2006.

His remains lie in state at the National Shrine of the Divine Child, La Salle Green Hills, Mandaluyong City.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, 08 November 2006, at 9:00AM at the National Shrine of the Divine Child.  Afterwards, his remains will be brought to Lipa City, Batangas for interment at the De La Salle Brothers' Memorial Cloister, La Salle Novitiate.

In lieu of flowers, Br. Rafe expressed in his will that donations be made to the Foundation for Sharing Lasallian Education (FSLE). Please make checks payable to "Foundation for Sharing Lasallian Education (for Br. Rafael S Donato FSC)."
